Osmosis is the blistering that appears on a fibreglass hull when moisture gets in under the gelcoat. Left untreated, it damages the hull and lowers the value of your boat. At our boatyard in Porreres, Mallorca, we treat osmosis on polyester boats.
What we do
- Assessment of the hull and its moisture level.
- Removal of damaged gelcoat and laminate.
- Hull drying before any repair.
- Repair and protection to stop it coming back.
When should you get it treated? If you can see blisters on the hull, if the boat has spent many years in the water, or if you are buying or selling a second-hand boat.
We work under cover and on dry land, with your boat stored in our covered boat storage. Besides the treatment, we can take care of antifouling, painting and the rest of your maintenance.
