Winter storage in Mallorca is not simply a parking space. Between November and April a vessel left afloat or outdoors is exposed to storm damage, salt corrosion, and UV degradation that shortens the life of gel-coat, canvas, and electronics. Our indoor facility removes all three, and our custody service means the boat is monitored and checked while it sits.
Sau Mares Nautica provides indoor dry-stack winter storage for yachts, speedboats, and motorboats at its facility in Porreres, central Mallorca. Vessels up to 30 metres LOA are stored fully undercover, sheltered from winter storms, UV radiation, and salt corrosion. Storage is booked on a minimum six-month seasonal term.
The Sau Mares Nautica storage facility in Porreres, Mallorca is protected by a connected alarm system operating 24 hours a day, year round. Alerts are transmitted in real time to emergency dispatch, so intrusion or incident is escalated immediately rather than discovered at the next site visit.
While a vessel is in storage with Sau Mares Nautica, our technicians carry out routine inspections covering bilge pump operation, battery state of charge, and visual structural integrity. These periodic checks catch developing faults during the off-season, before they become spring recommissioning problems.
What does winter storage and safekeeping include at our boat storage yard?
Winter storage means keeping your boat on dry land and under cover during the months of lower use. At our boat storage yard in Porreres, your boat is protected from sun, rain and salt air, with alarm surveillance connected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and periodic general checks. And because we are also a workshop, you can use the stay for maintenance, repairs or antifouling and have your boat ready for the season.
How much does winter boat storage cost in Mallorca?
It depends on the size of the boat. Tell us your boat's length and beam through the form and we will prepare a personalised quote.
What size of boats do you accept?
We work with boats between 4 and 30 metres in length.
Do you do repairs at the marina or only at the yard?
We do repairs at your marina. If they can be solved without taking the boat out of the water, we do them at your berth. If the boat has to be hauled out, we do it at the marina's own boatyard, and we only move it to our yard in Porreres when the job requires it.
Do you repair engines or only install them?
We sell and install new engines, and we also repair engines.
How do I know if my boat has osmosis?
The most common symptom is blistering on the hull, but the reliable way to know is to inspect the hull with the boat out of the water. We can diagnose it and tell you whether it needs treatment.
When should zinc anodes be replaced?
When they are visibly worn away. The easiest time to check is with the boat out of the water, for example during winter storage or antifouling.
Can you take care of everything if I live outside Mallorca?
Yes. Many of our customers live in other countries. We can store your boat, inspect it, repair it and have it ready for your arrival.
